California Proposition 65

California Proposition 65 Notice

At Oracle Tile & Stone, we are committed to providing high-quality natural stone products while complying with applicable laws and regulations, including California's Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 (Proposition 65).

What Is Proposition 65?

California Proposition 65 requires businesses to provide warnings when products may expose consumers to chemicals that the State of California has identified as causing cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. The law covers a broad range of naturally occurring and synthetic substances and applies to many products sold in California.

The presence of a Proposition 65 warning does not necessarily mean that a product is unsafe. In many cases, businesses provide warnings out of an abundance of caution or because the law requires them under specific circumstances.

Oracle Tile & Stone Products

Oracle Tile & Stone supplies premium natural stone products, including marble, travertine, limestone, dolomite, onyx, mosaics, pavers, coping, moldings, and related accessories.

Natural stone is a product of nature and may contain trace amounts of naturally occurring minerals. In addition, certain installation materials, maintenance products, packaging components, or processes associated with cutting, drilling, grinding, or installing stone may involve substances that are subject to Proposition 65 requirements.

Where required by California law, appropriate Proposition 65 warnings may be provided for applicable products.

Installation & Safety

When cutting, drilling, grinding, or otherwise modifying natural stone products:

  • Always work in a well-ventilated area.
  • Use wet-cutting methods whenever possible to reduce airborne dust.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including respiratory, eye, and hearing protection.
  • Follow all manufacturer instructions for installation materials, sealers, adhesives, and cleaning products.

Professional installers should comply with all applicable OSHA, state, and local workplace safety regulations.
